The Stop Market Café

The Stop chalk menu boardI like when Saturday mornings start with a stroll to The Stop’s Farmers’ Market at Wychwood Barns. We begin with coffee and then make our way through aisles, lingering at vendors’ tables, sampling, chatting and learning along the way as we read whatever is posted. We always seem to find new and different fresh produce, yummy baked goods, and a variety of savory treats. On our last visit we followed a sign to The Stop Market Café and were glad we did. It was hard to choose but we managed. Knowing that the ingredients were fresh and local and that some from the gardens and greenhouses are on-site, made the experience seem even more satisfying and healthy. The Stop Roots Garden sign.We walked back out through the market to shop a bit and since we were sated from our ‘stop’ at the café we actually managed to resist for the first time ever … those decadent sticky buns.

The Stop’s Farmers’ Market and The Stop Market Café are open every Saturday from 8 am to noon, 601 Christie Street, Toronto, ON
