This is a two-stage competition. The production budget is $150,000 (includes HST). This amount includes all fees, materials, fabrication and installation costs. A Selection Committee will select approximately five proposals in August, 2014. Please note that artists are NOT asked to submit proposals at this stage of the competition. At this stage artists are requested to submit:

• Resume (in print form, max. 4 pages). Please include postal mailing address, telephone number and email address
• 6-8 digital images of recent, relevant work*
• Artist statement outlining both interest in the proposal and experience working with both engineers and fabricators

*Artists should submit digital images listing title, date, materials and dimensions for each work. Include a self-addressed, stamped envelope for return of submission of material if desired.

Shortlisted artists or artists’ teams will receive a $1,500 honorarium for the production of a project proposal based on a Terms of Reference document provided to the short-listed artists by the RMG.

The Selection Committee will finalize its decision by 1 November, 2014; the commissioned sculpture is to be installed by 15 May, 2015.
